A Message from KWGA President
Hi Ladies,
Happy Spring!!!
Our event registrations went live on March 1st, so once you have signed up for your membership, you can start registering for our events. Don’t forget the West Michigan Cup registration will be live on May 1st. Remember, early Cup signup is extended to tournament and one-day event directors, so consider volunteering to help run an event.
For those who want to volunteer, please use the website contact form:
- Click kwga.net/contact
- In the How can we help section, select Volunteer and indicate the specific event in the comments.
Now that KWGA is a Golf Association of Michigan Club, I wanted to announce that our GAM Club Representative is Chris Zeigler. Chris is our liaison to support communication between KWGA and GAM. Chris wanted to communicate the many benefits of being part of a GAM Club.
- An official USGA handicap posted through GHIN
- GAM tournaments – GAM runs over 130 days of competition throughout the year. Many of these are women’s tournaments and also include mixed events.
- GAM Golf days – these are one-day events. When playing at a golf day event, you have the opportunity to play some of the top private and resort courses in the state at an affordable price. You can sign up individually or with your friends. These fill up fast! Courses scheduled this year include American Dunes, Pilgrims Run, and the Moors.
- Swing and Save – you can receive discounts at many courses across the state. A list is included on the GAM website
- Information on these and other benefits is at www.gam.org under membership or play tabs.
- Please remember to post all of your nine or eighteen-hole scores through GHIN to ensure KWGA can have fair and equitable events throughout the year. When you post scores, please try to post individual hole scores so that GHIN can accurately adjust your scores. If you are posting the total score, please make sure to adjust your scores as outlined in the world handicap system.
Our KWGA Wearables site is online and ready for your orders. The KWGA West Michigan Cup color remains blue this year.
Our KWGA Treasurer, Tammy Ketchum, had shoulder surgery earlier this year, so she is unable to play in a number of events. During her playing downtime, Tammy has volunteered to attend our events as a Player Assistant. She will be available during our events for questions and to keep the pace of play moving. (Her phone number will be on the rules sheet). Thank you, Tammy!!!
The board is excited to start our 2026 season. We look forward to seeing you all at our events.
